The Green School for Boys - permission granted
Robert West were pleased to support Willmott Dixon in the successful planning submission for The Green School for Boys in Isleworth, Twickenham.
The Green School for Boys is a new secondary school that opened in temporary on-site accommodation in September 2017. The school has now been granted planning permission for the construction of a permanent building that will provide a five form entry secondary school with sixth form for up to 900 pupils.
The development is low-car for staff only with no drop-off/pick-up facilities provided, with the exception of parking for those with mobility impairments, and it is located in a heavily parked area near a busy junction and bounded by a Grade II listed wall.
Robert West has played an integral role in optioneering multiple pedestrian site access solutions so that any impact on pedestrian safety could be balanced against the heritage impact on the listed wall.
Extensive liaison with the highway authority and the school trust also took place to identify additional travel demand management measures to reduce the number of pupils exiting the school at once and supervise the crossing activities in the nearby roads.
